FSC Canada welcomes Canfor’s Kalin Uhrich to its board of directors

FSC Canada recently announced that Kalin Uhrich, chief forester at Canadian Forest Products – Wood Products Canada, has joined its board of directors.

Uhrich comes in place of Arther Tsai, who recently left Canfor. Tsai held an economic chamber seat on the FSC Canada board of directors.

In his new role, Uhrich offers strategic support, guidance, and leadership in the areas of forest policy, forestry associations liaise, Indigenous partnerships, strategic fibre supply, timber pricing, forest certification and sustainability.

Uhrich brings with him more than 40 years of experience in the forest industry. He has held supervision and management positions in lumber manufacturing and forestry operations. Over the past 18 years, he has served in management roles at Pope & Talbot, Conifex Timber and Canfor – where he joined as chief forester in 2016.

Uhrich is currently the chair of the College of New Caledonia – Research Forest Society. He also serves as the forest industry co-chair of both the Provincial Forestry Forum and the North Area Operational Issues Forum. He represents Canfor in numerous forestry and environmental committees at both the provincial and national levels.
